Santa Monica is a great place to live! It’s an upscale beach front city full of luxury living, recreation and businesses. 3 sides of the city border Los Angeles, as well as the Pacific Palisades on the NW, Brentwood on the nort, Mar Vista on the east, and Venice on the SE.
The population for Santa Monica is 89,736 in 201o. The city is a great resort city, and known for the agreeable Mediterranean climate. The city enjoys an average of 310 days of sunshine a year!
The town continues to grow and fill with businesses and beautiful homes.
The Santa Monica Pier is known all over the state! It’s beauiful and a large doubled jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue. It’s 100 years old, and a large landmark for the area.
On the pier there is an amusement park known as Pacific Park, with a large Ferris Wheel that is known statewide.
The Santa Monica- Malibu Unified School districts provides education for the public in the city. There are many elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 2 high schools: Olympic High and Santa Monica High. There are also many private schools in the city.
The city also houses a community college: Santa Monica College. Many people who graduate from this college then transfer to the University of California. There is also numerous universities and colleges within a 22 mile radius of Santa Monica such as: Los Angeles City College, Loyola Marymount University, California State University, UCLA, USC and many others. These all provide quality education for those in California.
